Getting Started

Golfergroups.com is a website that keep track of your personal golfing statistics like any professional players for free. It helps to save your personal golf records so you can keep track of the statistics. You can also share your achievements with fellow golfers for comparative analysis and add more fun to your golfing career.

Registration

After you have successfully registered a golfer account, you can follow the instructions to complete the setup procedures and personalize your settings, to become the worlds most advanced golf player or team, and add more joy to your future games.

You can register and use the golf website for free, Users can be registered as a golfer or a team and you can create a link between the 2 types of user, Please select your desired type and please note that the registered password must be at least 8 characters, including: "English Uppercase"+ "at least a Number"+ "at least a Special Character !@#$%^&*.."

Once registered, you will receive a confirmation email, please click on the confirmation link to complete the registration process.

Languages

You can select your preferred language from the drop-down menu located on the top right corner of the home page or the top right corner of your personal golf page, currently available in 6 languages namely: English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, German, French.

Login

You can login from the login page or click on the Login link on the top left corner of the home page, You can use your registered Login Name or Email Address to sign in.

Password

If you forget the login password, click on Forgot next to the password field, then enter your registered email address, the system will automatically send an email to your mailbox to reset the password, simply click the link within the message, If not clickable please copy the link into your browser, you can now set your new password.

Frontend and Backend

Upon successful login, you will sign in directly to your websites Backend. To switch frontend and backend just click on the button located on the top left corner of your personal page.

Frontend: The page that will display your Golf statistics to the public.

Backend: Users personal page to edit modify delete golf statistics belonging to private.

Upload select option will appear, C. click on Browse to select the photo you want to upload from your computer. ( recommended picture size 280x370 px ), after selecting photo, D. press Save to upload.

After you upload a photo or update any content, the content will be displayed in the Frontends Profile page.

B. Equipment

Choose your favorite clubs, you can select up to 14 clubs. Click Save after selecting.

a. Find Frinends

Here you can search for friends you know, to add friend, please press the + on the right side of the box to link a friend. the system will automatically send Add Friend invitation to the member, and the member will appear on your Pending Request page until he or she accepts the request. When the member accepts your request, the member will automatically be added into your My Friends list. To cancel the invitation, in the Pending Request page, click on the - button on the right of the member box.

b. Invite Friends

If your golf mates are not members of GolferGroups, you can send a friend invitation link through the website.

c. Find Groups

Here you can find any team you want to join, the steps are similar to Find Friends from the previous page.

Here you can invite any team to join Golfergroups, the steps are similar to Invite Friends from the previous page.

D. Message

When a number appears next to the message label, it means a friend has sent you a message. 1 indicates 1 unread message, 2 means there are 2 unread messages, and so on.

When other members sent you a friend invitation, you can click on the particular member in the Messages page, then select Accept or Reject the invitation.

a. Create or Edit course basic information and scorecard

Step 1

note: A. When updated course basic information, Click "Next" to update scorecard.

  • A. Select a par value for 1-18 hole.
  • B. Select a HDCP for 1-18 hole.
  • C. Set blue tee box value: Set course rating value between 60 to 85, Set course slope value between 55 to 155, Please keep unchange if you do not know the accurate value.
  • D. Input yard distance for 1-18 hole.
  • E. Same way set values for White tee and Red tee.
  • F. Click previous tab back to basic information setting.
  • G. When done click Save.

b. Edit a Course: Please select the course you want to edit, when done the page will automatically refresh with the course data, you can make changes to any incorrect value, when done click Save to complete the updates. Your name will also appear in the lower left corner of the course page, thank you for your contributions and updates.

H. Add New Round

You can learn more by link to video instruction page "Video Instruction" browsing secton "Add a new round".

a. Add New Round

Step 1 : Select a course, If no course found, please create a course by clicking + tab.
Step 2 : Check if scorecard is correct, if there is error and needs correction, click Edit Scorecard on the top left corner to update.
Step 3 : Select 1. Tee Color 2. Type of Round 3. Round Date 4. Memo
Step 4 : Select 1. Tee Time 2. Weather Conditions ( Optional ) 3. Type of grass 4. Green Speed
Step 5 : Select a starting hole
Step 6 : 1. Select a position where hit from. 2. Select the ball falling result and position. 3. Select a club used. 4. Input stroke distance for the shot(yards). For striking and ball placement, please refer to the following Striking and ball placement reference. 5. After complete selection and input, please click Next shot or Next hole to be continue next strike.

When complete every shot in a hole, system will automatic calculate score for every hole on scorecard.

b. Edit a Round

Step 1 : Please select the rounds to edit.
Step 2 : modify the respective content or hole, You can browse add new round section for reference.
Step 3 : when done click Save.

c. Remove a Round

Step 1 : Please confirm "Are you sure want to remove round?"
Step 2 : Click "OK" to confirm remove round.
Step 3 : Click "Cancel" keep unchange.

d. Incompleted Round

If you accidentally leave the add new round page without completing the striking records, you can go to Incompleted Round page, select the rounds name you wish to complete, you can continue to complete the striking record for the round.

I. Competition

Here you can hold games like a professional competition, the system will automatically calculate the results and provide a ranking list, a competition can automatically calculate 1 to 4 games, steps to add edit delete the competition are as follows:

a. Hold a competition

A competition includes 4 rounds or less, System automatically calculate and rank every round. It is very easy to hold a competition.

Step 1 : Please confirm that players participating in the competition MUST be a friend in your "backend/clubhouse/" my friend list. How to add friends, please have a look over Clubhouse section.
Step 2 : From my friend list on the left, select players to join the competition, and then click the add tab to add to the competition. To remove a player, select the player from the list on the right, and then click on the remove tab.
Step 3 : Please input a competition name on your demand, For exemple: 2016 Team Washington overseas competition in Osaka , And then select a competition date.
Step 4 : Select rounds from round 1 to round 4 from your round list, At least 1 round, and no more than 4 rounds. 1 to 4 round selection depends on your competition demand.
Step 5 : when done click Save.

You can browse competition result in your frontend menu "Competition" , select a competition name to show all the players ranking.

b. Edit a competition

Step 1 : In backend click Edit competition on menu Competition .
Step 2 : Select a competition name to edit.
Step 3 : Add or remove players.
Step 4 : Update competition name or date.
Step 5 : Update rounds.
Step 6 : When done click Update.

c. Remove a competition

Step 1 : Select a round to remove .
Step 2 : Click "Delete this competition" tab.
Step 3 : A pop-up window shows "Are you sure? This competition will be permanently deleted". Click "Delete competition" to confirm delete. / Click "Cancel" keep unchange.

J. Tools

a. New New Peoria

  • i. Create a New New Peoria game.
  • Step 1 : Please confirm that players participating in the NNP MUST be a friend in your "Backend/Clubhouse/" my friend list. How to add friends, please have a look over Clubhouse section.
    Step 2 : From my friend list on the left, select players to join the NNP, and then click the add tab to add to the NNP. To remove a player, select the player from the list on the right, and then click on the remove tab.
    Step 3 : Please input New New Peoria name on your own. For exemple: 2016 NNP at Pebble Beach
    Step 4 : Select 6 excluded holes.
    Step 5 : Select a round from round list.
    Step 6 : when done click Save.

    You can browse New New Peoria game result in your frontend menu "Frontend/Tools/NNP", select a NNP name to show all the players ranking.

  • ii. Edit a New New Peoiia game.
  • Step 1 : Click Edit NNP on menu Tools in backend "Backend/Tools/NNP/Edit NNP"
    Step 2 : Select a NNP game to edit.
    Step 3 : Add or Remove players.
    Step 4 : Update NNP name or date.
    Step 5 : Select a round from round list.
    Step 6 : when done click Save.

  • iii. Remove a New New Peoiia game.
  • Step 1 : Select a round to remove .
    Step 2 : Click "Delete this NNP" tab.

b. Las Vegas

    NOTE
  • 1. Be sure to finish the first hole before you can set Las Vegas game.
  • 2. Results are updated in real time, you can instantly see the changes.
  • 3. Team players are automatic grouped based on the striking distance of each players first shot in starting hole.
  • i. Create a Las Vegas game.
  • Step 1 : Please confirm that players participating in the NNP MUST be a friend in your "Backend/Clubhouse/" my friend list. How to add friends, please have a look over Clubhouse section.
    Step 2 : From my friend list on the left, select players to join the NNP, and then click the add tab to add to the NNP. To remove a player, select the player from the list on the right, and then click on the remove tab.
    Step 3 : Add 3 other players.
    Step 4 : Please input a Las Vegas name on your own, For exemple: 2016 Las Vegas game at Pebble Beach , And then select the game date.
    Step 5 : Select a round from round list, And also select a starting hole.
    Step 6 : ( Optional ) If you want to aggravate the Las Vegas scoring, tick the multiple scoring option.
    Step 7 : when done click Save.

    Below is a brief description of aggravated scoring, if you need detailed explanation, you can look it up on Google.

  • Flipping the bird: When employing this rule, a team that makes a birdie and wins the hole can flip the other teams score for that hole. So instead of the low number going first the high number goes first, The opponents 4 and 6 would not be 46, but 64.
  • Double the margin for a hole for a birdie: A team that makes a birdie and wins the hole can double the differentials of the other teams score for that hole.
  • Triple the differentials for an eagle: A team that makes an eagle and wins the hole can triple the differentials of the other teams score for that hole.

  • ii. Edit a Las Vegas game
  • No edit functionality for Las Vegas game, You might remove a Las Vegas game and then create a new one.

  • iii. Remove a Las Vegas game.
  • Step 1 : Select a round to remove .
    Step 2 : Click "Delete this Las Vegas" tab.
    Step 3 : A pop-up window shows "Are you sure? This Las Vegas will be permanently deleted". Click "Delete Las Vegas" to confirm delete. / Click "Cancel" keep unchange.

Frontend – Golfer

When the golfer makes any content editing or settings on the backend, it will be displayed publicly on the frontend page, each golfer has its own unique player statistics page, and the page URL is their unique registered name.

Click on Share icon to share the players personal homepage to Facebook, Remember to sign in to your Facebook account.

C. Group Calendar

Team Calendar will be publish by the respective team account manager, as long as you are a member of the team, you can view the information on your personal page, so you have to join the team before team calendar displays any content, Content will not be displayed to non-members of the team.

Step 1 : Click group calendar icon .
Step 2 : Browse group events in calendar.
Step 3 : Click event topic in calendar to read event detail .

D. Group Survey

Team Survey will be publish by the respective team account manager, as long as you are a member of the team, you can view the information on your personal page, so you have to join the team before team survey displays any content, Content will not be displayed to non-members of the team.

Step 1 : Click on team survey icon to browse the survey items of each team from time to time .
Step 2 : Click on event top to display the contents of the survey, after filling out the questionnaire, click submit to complete the reply.

  • "Replied" means that you successfully replied to the survey.
  • "Blank" means that you have not yet respond to the survey.
  • "Closed" means that the survey has exceeded the survey period, the survey has ended, and the survey content cannot be viewed.
  • "Open" means that the survey is still within the survey period, you can always click on the event title, fill out the questionnaire and click submit to complete the reply.

E. Player Profile

When the golfer completes their players profile editing on the backend, it will be displayed in the players profile page on the frontend.

F. Messages and Chat

G. Statistics

When you have completed at least a game, data will then be populated onto the statistic tables.

H. Round

Player recorded round list, clicking display scorecard and round summary, link to round statistics, share scorecard to facebook or google + .

I. Competition

Here you can hold competitions of any size, just join as friends, complete rounds, and become a player of the competition, the backend process will automatically count and rank the players and display in frontend.

How to hold a competition, please have a look over Backend/Competition section.

Ranking items include: Gross score, Net Score, Farthest driving distance, Driving Accuracy, Green in Regulation, Putts, Sand Saves, Scrambling, Up and Downs, Penalty, Eagle, Birdie, Par, Bogey, Double Bogey, 3+ Bogey, Par 3 Score on par performance, Par 4 Score on par performance, Par 5 Score on par performance.

J. Leader Board

The major items for ranking players in the team or community. Includes Handicap, Scoring Average, Putts Average, Driving Accuracy Percentage, Green In Regulation Percentage, Scrambling Percentage, Sand Save %, Up and Down %, Driving Distance.

Team can use the ranking filter, by entering the team name or registered name, to show the players ranking in the team.

K. Tools

  • a.New New Peoria: When you finish the New New Peoria game setting on the backend, contents of the game will be displayed on the frontend.

    Las Vegas game results are updated "real-time", when you complete the settings on the backend, ( NOTE: Be sure to finish the first hole before updating on the backend .)

    Players grouping for each hole, the same color for the same group. ( current hole ranking 1 and 4 will be grouped for the next hole and ranking 2 and 3 will be grouped for the next hole. )

To edit the posted course review and rating, under Backend/Messages , click course review and rating to update or delete.
